In Your Hand or On Your Head!

According to Revelation 13:16 all will be required to receive the Mark either in their right hand or in their forehead. To date it has been easy to see how the smartphone, as currently used fulfills the prophecy of "in the right hand". However one may wonder how this technology may be used "In the forehead"? Strongs concordance defines the Greek word for "in", "Epi" (G1909) to mean "1. Upon, on, at, by, over, against. 2. Of position, on, at, by, over, against. 3. to, over, on, at, across, against." It is clear by this definition the Mark will be worn on the forehead. But one may ask, "How do you wear a smartphone on your head"? Well the good folks at Google have figured it out. Google is preparing to release as early as 2013 a new way to view the information typically provided via the smartphone. "Google Glasses" will be able to "display images and video and have a button that can be used for taking pictures" (Martin, 2012). The technology is comprised of "Google Goggles" which is software that will be able to scan images using the onboard camera and surf the web. Google Glasses is the hardware that will be worn, which will be comprised of a heads up display, camera and will be location aware using a GPS. Google glasses will run on the Android OS and will provide "either 3G or 4G data connections". These glasses are intended to be stand alone and will not be required to work with your smartphone. (Marshall, 2012) To understand the symbolism of wearing such a device please see Emmett O'Regan's blog post "Cell Phones and the Mark of the Beast" which can be found at http://unveilingtheapocalypse.blogspot.com.

Symbolism of the Mark

For those interested in Smartphones and their use as the Mark of the Beast, Emmett O'Regan, a Catholic theologian located in Belfast Ireland has done some great work researching this technology and its use to fulfill bible prophecy. Father O'Regan's work focuses on the symbolic aspect of the Mark and how Smartphones fulfill that symbolism. Of particular note is the use of Smartphones as "anti-phylacteries". His work is very extensive and a wonderful read. For those who think being forced to take the Mark will be an overt action, obvious to all, should read his research. Father O'Regan's work can be found at "Unveiling the Apoalypse: Cell Phones and the Mark of the Beast".
